Night at the Opera
A bright and tight warm-up for Celebration Day, as usual. Thundering with the orchestra back up, not a missed note. They took the stage a few minutes early, eager to jam for the crowd - not often seen. Though I missed the guest musicians they plug into some of the songs with different instruments, they were excellent overall. I really enjoyed Jimmy's parade of guitars and the electric, upright double bass. A great set list to set the stage.
The Acrisure Series performed an awesome show we have come to expect, fabulous. The new videos hit the mark well. The lights and screen psychedelics were fantastic. The sustained, clear, and crisp bass was almost overpowering, delivering a constant pounding beat or rumble that cut through you. They were missing some of the high high notes, though. The band was ON for another great performance. At times, it seemed they needed to turn up the lead guitars to soar above the rest of the fray. All those violins were a bit muted too, so the high/low balance was a bit off. The only thing missing was the acrobatic girls on the curtain ropes. That act really adds the Vegas touch to a great show. Thank you for ending with Comfortably Numb.
